JUST IN: DISCORD BAN IN THE PHILIPPINES LIFTED BY CICC MANILA, Philippines — The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) has lifted the ban on Discord in the Philippines following discussions between the government and the online communication platform. According to Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda , Discord coordinated with the DICT and CICC and committed to taking immediate steps to strengthen protections for young users against online threats. The CICC also said Discord committed to working with Philippine authorities to improve online child safety measures . The Philippines is also expected to have a “ green lane ” to help authorities coordinate with the platform in identifying and monitoring potential threat actors.
